WHAT IS YOUR RETOUCHING PROCESS - HOW MUCH DO YOU “EDIT OUT?”
First and foremost, we want you to look at your images and be proud. If you get them back and don’t recognize the person in them, then we have not achieved our purpose. We accomplish this more through careful posing, use of light, and our photography skills than the magic of Photoshop and we are happy to see the general fashion and media industry moving in this direction as well.
Our retouching philosophy is to honor your body. We will make your skin look its best, soften fine lines and undereye circles, remove blemishes, bruises, and the like, but we will not turn you into a mannequin or remove several dress sizes. Hard stop.
Overall, our editing process focuses more on small and stylistic changes that improve the overall image instead of morphing your body or the set into something unrecognizable and our clients appreciate this.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A RETOUCHED AND AN UNRETOUCHED IMAGE?
Fully retouched images are polished fine art pieces with the adjustments made, where needed, as listed below.
Unretouched images are “as-is” images acceptable for posting on some social media but not recommended for printing. Some slight differences may occur between your proof and final version as describe under “adjustments made to unretouched photos”.
Adjustments made to fully retouched photos:
-Cropping and rotation
-Color correction
-Exposure (how light or dark the photo is)
-Stylistic/artistic edits
-Skin tone correction | skin softening| fine lines | blemishes| dark circles | bruises | veins, etc.
-Clothing cutting into skin | Major skin folds from bending/twisting
-Teeth whitening
-Backdrop cleanup | unwanted object removal
Color and black and white retouch of image provided in most cases.
